Update episode and return to hospital

From time to time a hospital practice may provide feedback in relation to a referral, when they provide this feedback, you will be notified via email and via a message on your clinical dashboard.

The full message will be present in the referral status on the Manage Referral page (accessed via the General dropdown menu), you can use the URN (the unique referral number starting with OPI) to search for the referral on Manage Referral page.


It may be that this notification requires you to add a comment to the hospital and return this to them, to prevent you from having to create a new referral, the system allows you to Update the Episode.


To do this, click on the episode from the Manage Referral page and you will see a slide out bar from the Right Hand Side of the screen, where you will see a Update Episode button, click on this button to open the update episode function.


From here, add your message to the free text box and press submit, this will then add an additional page to the front of the referral document and resubmit this to the hospital.


NOTE - this can only be used for referrals that have been sent to hospital eye service, if you need to add further information to a optical practice referral then you will need to do this via a new referral or directly responding to the practice outside of OPERAi
